Much of my art begins in one form and is tranmuted into another through the creative process. I draw on elements of batik, block-printing and collage, and use them within the digital environment.

The origins and beginnings of this folio grew from my fascination with the celtic tradition. I spent many a happy hour in the Archaeology Dept. drawing room as an undergraduate, exploring the treasure-trove of ancient artifacts, and making detailed images.
Inspired by elements ranging between the Books of Kells and Lindisfarne, inspired by the gothic architecture of europe and the art deco uses of projective ornamentation, these paintings are all hand-drawn and coloured. They are all in private collections
I find that the deeper I go into this exploration through my artwork, the more i understand that there is some further dimension to discover.
And standing here, at the edge of the world; awestruck at the sheer hugeness and incomprehensible nature of that which we do not know, I feel really blessed to have started to unravel my calling in this Mortal Coil.
In essence, my work is about capturing a glimpse of what Lichtenstein called the “unspeakable’, and bringing it back in a form of art. To me, it holds a liminality which draws me further into it, as if by design…
