New Media Psychedelia

Psychedelia and New Media Technology

So if ever there were a match made in heaven, it was the introduction of new media graphics tools to the psychedelic artist.

I was passed a version of Photoshop4 back in 1997, running on an already dated HP 486 windows machine, and it took, like, for-evah!! to crunch it’s way through the simplest tasks.  Remember transferring via 3inch floppy drives ? … Woah!

Anyway, technology finally started to catch up with the imagineers in the 2000s, and the rest is history.

Indeed, the potential directions into which one can delve for creative inspiration are limited only by the accessibility and speed with which one can learn new techniques and tools.  Beyond that, the world of the imagination is ones proverbial oyster!

I’ve been making psychedelic art since the early 90s, with various hiatuses into different aspects of my checked “apprenticeship”, as I’ve navigated this modern world.  I could argue that all my work has and “acidee” bent, really, but there’s a certain genre that I hold this description for… perhaps a “Grail” amongst the many apparitions.   Or perhaps an art stemming from mushrooms, and the visionary plants ..

Almost, these works hold elements and ideas worked on in all my other work…

Other Experiences

Over the years, I’ve worked as a Chef, an Archeologist, a Builder and a Yurt Maker.

Making Yurts has probably been one of my best things to do, as it has encompassed design, and woodworking and a host of other skills. https://dessinemoiuneyourte.com

“May the soft rains fall, and nurture;
May the warm earth hold the dream;
May the sun shine down with radiance;
May the stars light your way in the dark.
May the seed grow strong for tomorrow;
May the flower give joy to your soul;
May the patterns unfold, unhindered;
May you always be coming home.”
